Teeth Grinding/Bruxism Therapy

  • To help treat cases of teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, we can fit you with a customized mouthguard that is unique to your bite. This mouthguard will protect your teeth from grinding and clenching while you sleep at night. Over time, it will also reposition your jaw into a more comfortable and proper position to help prevent teeth grinding all together in the future.

Occlusal Adjustment

  • When your bite is off, it can cause serious problems for your oral health and overall comfort. Teeth that don’t connect properly can cause teeth grinding and even TMJ disorder, causing severe jaw pain in some cases. Additionally, it can make it difficult to eat and possibly cause teeth to crack or get worn down. Our doctors are able to gently adjust the cusps of your teeth so they connect properly when you bite through occlusal adjustments.

Dentures

  • For patients with missing teeth, we offer comfortable dentures that can give you back the ability to eat, smile and speak with confidence. Dentures can replace an entire arch of missing teeth or we can construct partial dentures to replace several teeth missing in your mouth. Those who want a more permanent solution can even secure their denture in their mouth with as few as two dental implants, creating an implant supported denture!

  • Learn How to Sleep Better with Sleep Apnea
Sleep disorders are much more common than you may think. According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep apnea affects more than 18 million Americans. This figure is, of course, based on reported instances. Many people may not know they suffer from sleep apnea until their symptoms are reported by a sleep partner. This means the real figure could be much higher. At Rabine Family Dentistry, we offer oral appliances to alleviate the symptoms of sleep apnea. An oral appliance can provide you with safer and more restful sleep!

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is characterized by the repeated cessation of breathing during sleep. There are three main types of sleep apnea: obstructive, central, and complex. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common form caused by the relaxation of the muscles in the throat.

Central sleep apnea occurs when your brain does not send the proper signals to your breathing muscles. Complex sleep apnea is a combination of both obstructive and central sleep apnea. If you have been told you snore loudly, or feel tired even after a full night’s sleep, you may have sleep apnea. Other symptoms include:

  • Choking or gasping noises during sleep
  • A sore throat or dry mouth in the morning
  • Waking up with a dull headache
