Easily Mask Smile Imperfections
Having a beautiful smile is something that most people wish for, but we are rarely born with perfect teeth. While there are many treatments that can cosmetically enhance your teeth, like Invisalign or dental crowns, these can often be time consuming or expensive. If your smile simply needs a cosmetic enhancement, Drs. Dustin and Kenneth Rabine offer our Shelton, CT and surrounding area patients two-visit smile enhancements with porcelain veneers or Lumineers®. Veneers or Lumineers are ultra-thin covers for the outer surface of teeth that mask imperfections without having to perform extensive treatment. While porcelain veneers and Lumineers do not correct functional concerns, like an improper bite or diseased teeth, it does improve the appearance of minor cosmetic imperfections.

How Do They Work?
Porcelain veneers and Lumineers are actually a very simple dental procedure. Our doctors will use an iTero® intraoral scanner to capture digital images of your teeth. By examining these images and working with you, we can design beautiful “masks” for your teeth that correct your smile imperfections. Our team will work closely with you to design your new veneers or Lumineers to match the color, size and shape you desire. Once your veneers or Lumineers are created, you will come in for a second and final appointment to have them affixed to the front of your teeth! Patients who choose porcelain veneers will need to have a portion of their tooth enamel removed to make space for the veneer and prevent it from looking too bulky in the smile. Lumineers on the other hand, do not require any enamel to be removed. Both options give you a strong, natural-looking bite.
